Inforpress receives the Holmes Report award in Barcelona for best consultancy 2006

Núria Vilanova, president of the Inforpress Group, collected the Holmes Report award last night in Barcelona. It makes this public relations agency Spanish consultancy of the year, 2006. The ceremony was held at the Maritime Museum and brought together Europe’s main PR agencies.
Holmes Report presented the Inforpress Group with the consultancy of the year award in recognition of the company’s business strategy. It has seen major growth in recent years, and now employs more than 100 consultants, achieving a turnover of over 7 million Euro.
Besides its division into specialised business units, Holmes Report also valued the role played by Inforpress as an opinion leader, thanks, amongst other things, to its policy of alliances with business schools and associations, with which it has been promoting a range of courses and research projects for years.
This is the second award that Inforpress has received from Holmes Report. It was also rated as best public relations agency to work for in Spain.

The Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences (RACEF) presents a guide for sustainability of companies

The Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences (RACEF) has presented a report with 45 recommendations and 120 indicators for the sustainability of companies. 25 academics and more than 120 representatives from the world of business and experts in the field have participated in preparing the report, including the president of the Inforpress Group, Núria Vilanova.
The report is called “Corporate responsibility. A proposal for a new Business Economy” and was directed by Aldo Olcese. It is the result of six months’ work. One of its main conclusions is the importance of incorporating CSR transversally across all company departments.
Another of the report’s novelties is that it extends CSR dimensions to twelve. In addition to those already known – corporate government, environment and social action – it adds aspects such as information transparency, responsible investment, the fight against corruption, patronage, competition and relations with the advertising sphere.
This document also includes proposals for public policies that will be passed on to Government. They highlight the creation of a subject called “Business Economy, Corporate Responsibility” which should be obligatory in Economics and Business Studies degrees, and optional in the rest.

Discussion with Paul Ingendaay, Correspondent from Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

“Spain and Germany have something in common – they have both lived many years under a dictatorship”.

“Germany could learn a great deal from the Spanish character, and Spain from the German one. Their merits and defects are highly complementary.”

“Spain is a model for other countries of how to overcome a period of confrontation such as the civil war and dictatorship, and how to install a democracy.”

“The stereotype that Spanish people do little work crumbles as soon as you come into contact with a Spanish company.”

“Workers in the Spanish services sector often work more than their German counterparts.”
