Núria Vilanova, member of the Consulting Committee of the RACEF on Corporate Responsibility

The president of Grupo Inforpress, Núria Vilanova, is a member of the Consulting Committee of the “Corporate Responsibility, proposal for a new corporate economy” project, sponsored by the Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences (RACEF). This committee is directed by Aldo Olcese, and also includes Emilio Botín, president of Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH), and Juan Roig, president of the Institute of Family Business and president of Mercadona.
The aim of the committee is to analyse and research the business model which is developing around the new values and tools of business management, based on Corporate Responsibility. To do this, the committee will collect the information provided by civil society and economic agents and will foment the debate in different areas. Its work will be carried out over the first six months of 2007, and will then be presented to the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Universities Council and the Autonomic Communities for the creation of a subject entitled Business Economy: Corporate Responsibility, as a subject for the last year of the degree in Economic and Business Sciences, and as an option subject in the second cycle in all other faculties.
Another objective is the publication of a “Guide of Recommendation of Principles of Corporate Responsibility” for companies, or the creation of the first “Observatory of Corporate Responsibility”, led by the RACEF which will invite the economic and social agents, private and public institutions that are interested in this issue.

Grupo Harmonia entrusts its communications to Inforpress
Grupo Harmonia, specialising in property development, has contracted the services of Grupo Inforpress for the communications of its company. This company plans on consolidating itself in the Eastern European markets through the development of five new residential developments in Poland and Rumania.
As well as its developments in Eastern European countries, Grupo Harmonia currently has 16 development projects in Spain. This Group is also a founding member and investor in the chain of 02 Wellness sports centres, leaders in their sector for their specialisation in health and wellbeing treatments. This chain currently has 50.000 members in its 14 clubs around Europe.
The values of Harmonia, since its beginnings, are centred in creating developments of sustainable design and quality, which care for the environment, and cooperates with architects of national and international recognition such as Richard Rogers, Aukett Fittzroy Robinson, Alonso Balaguer and Fermín Vázquez, just to mention a few.
The trends in the property industry are towards the concentration and diversification of the business due to the market slow-down, and thus competition is continually getting tougher. Thus, the companies need to position themselves, not only to sell more, but to gain prestige and obtain the confidence of investors to finance their developments.

Discussion with José Antich, director of La Vanguardia

"We are a newspaper that has the optimism of a beginner and the experience we've gained throughout our history".
"La Vanguardia is the newspaper with the highest sales in a Spanish Autonomous Community".
"We are a newspaper of meaning, not general outlines. This is a model that works in Catalonia ”.
"La Vanguardia is the only means in which you will find different lines of thought. We believe a central posture does exist”.
