Inforpress increases its services in Andalusia opening offices in Seville and Malaga

The new offices will allow Grupo Inforpress to increase its services both in Andalusia, which it had been handling from its central offices, and nationally. These new offices join the list of offices the group already has throughout the Iberian Peninsula: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, Lisbon.

Presence in Andalusia will allow Grupo Inforpress to offer a more personal and localised services both to its current and potential clients in the area and to the press. Additionally, it will facilitate the actions to be carried out in the Autonomous Region by the other offices, and at the same time, will make contact between Andalusian companies with the rest of Spain where Inforpress is present easier.

“We want to offer our Andalusian clients a closer and more personalised service, as we firmly believe they have great potential in the area of communications”, says the president of the Group, Núria Vilanova.

“We believe that initially our strong points with regard to Andalusian companies are communications outside Andalusia, our specialities; internal, external crisis or corporate responsibility communications, and training in communication skills. We aim to support our national clients in the corporate and consumer communications in this region”, explains the president to Inforpress.

New to the team

Carmen Molina and Encarnación Ayllón will be in charge of these offices as the new directors of western and eastern Andalusia respectively, and shall strengthen their presence in southern Spain.

Carmen Molina, in charge of the Seville office, graduated in Information Sciences and has 16 years of experience in communications in companies such as Antena 3, institutional firms and communication’s agencies.

Encarnación Ayllón, at the Malaga office, began her professional career at the office of institutional relations for the Belgian Pavilion at Expo´92. Since then, she has worked in managerial position in communications and as a consultant for various different communications’ offices.

Inforpress is collaborating in a project to support the development of African women

Inforpress Group is collaborating with the Banesto Society and Technology Foundation, in a project for the social and economic development of African women, which expects to generate 5,000 direct jobs and to achieve an impact of 42 million euros on the global economy in 5 years. This initiative is also backed by partners such as Rusticae, Microsoft, Telefónica, Grupo Matutes, Viajes Marsans, and ESADE.

At the Second International Spain-Africa Meeting on “Women for a Better World,” Ana Patricia Botín, the Chairwoman of the Foundation, presented “Co-operative and Sustainable Tourism” in Africa, an initiative to support the economic and social development of African women.

This project is a result of the commitment taken on by Ana Patricia Botín at the First International Spain-Africa Meeting last year in Mozambique, and it fits within point 4 of the Maputo Declaration: Fostering specific entrepreneurial support projects and supporting women entrepreneurs.
The “Co-operative and Sustainable Tourism” in Africa initiative, set out in www.turismo-solidario.es, considers the following:

• Training and enablement in the field of hotel management, according to criteria of economic, social and environmental sustainability.
• Consultancy, facilities and certification.
• Financing: Participants will be supported in terms of accessing financing for their investments.
• Access to markets, as a key, differentiating element.

The website will only include co-operative and sustainable hotels, that is, those exceeding minimum established levels in terms of: jobs for the local population, jobs for women, local procurement, social commitment with the environment, and responsible impact on local development.

This project will allow the transfer of know-how from Spain to Africa and access to training, consultancy and financing for African women. It will also enable the use of new technologies.
This initiative, which is meant to have an impact of 42 million euros on the global economy in 5 years, aspires to support 1,000 small hotels throughout Africa, generating 5,000 direct jobs and 8,000 indirect jobs. It expects to cater to 400,000 tourists a year, with a total 1.8 million overnight stays.

Inforpress Talks

Discussion with Rafael Nadal, director of El Periódico de Cataluña

“Regarding the media crisis I am optimistic...or should I say realistic. It is a fact that we have been through hard times, subject to external attacks, but we have clear possibilities for the future... The Internet is a direct contender for television companies, but not for the written media”.

“New technologies help out but they also complicate things for the media. Procedures are increasingly complex”.
