King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden and the President Generalitat of Catalonia visited the new Oryzon Genomics’ headquarter
Last September, the biotech company Oryzon has received two important visits according with the opening of its new headquarters, and the event was coordinated by Inforpress. The last visit was attended by King Carl Gustav of Sweden as chairman of the Swedish Academy of Sciences and Engineering who was accompanied by the President of the Government of Catalonia, José Montilla. The delegation, which visited some of the major institutions and companies in the field of science in our country, was compound of the Ambassador of Sweden, Ander Rönquist, the director of the Swedish Research Institute, Rolf Annerber, the president of the Royal Institute of Technology, Peter Gudmunson and the Vice President of AstraZeneca, Johan Lund, among others.
Earlier, on 7 September, the company organized the inauguration of a new headquarter in a ceremony presided by the Minister of Science and Innovation, the Mayor of the city of Cornellá (Barcelona), Antonio Martinez, and representative of Economy and Society area of the City Council, Sergio Fernandez.
The new building has an area of 2.300m2, three times higher than the previous headquarter. The number of workers has increased considerably, especially after the acquisition of Crystax Pharmaceuticals Ltd. last March. Following this transaction, the value of the company is 55 million €, becoming one of the three biotech companies in Spain with more growth. The company has a team of 80 highly qualified international scientists and more than 7 million € turnover in the last financial year.

"Don’t forget your ears" invites people to look after their hearing

The Inforpress Group has signed an agreement with the Tomillo Foundation according to which the consultancy will donate a sum equivalent to registering for four communication seminars to this non-profit making organisation throughout the coming year. The agreement, which can be renewed on an annual basis, will enable foundation employees to improve their skills in order to carry out their work in caring for the socially disadvantaged.
GAES roadshow "Don’t forget your ears," is running different Spanish cities to reach public awareness about the importance of periodically reviewing our hearing health. It is estimated that 8% of the population have a hearing problem. 50% of people recognize have not ever done a review hearing.
Experts warn about the need to regularly review our hearing, as a way to prevent possible hearing disorders, besides taking measures to protect our ears. Although hearing loss is a condition most common in persons over 55 years old, everyday affect more younger people. Currently, risk factors such as prolonged exposure to high noise levels or the abusive use of music players with headphones, as MP3, are causing hearing losses, especially among young people.
Each year the campaign, which has been supported by Inforpress, regards different aspects of hearing. This time, "Don’t forget your ears" wants to pay special attention to hearing disorders in children. In Spain, this problem affects every year to 2,500 babies borned with some form of hearing loss.
Visitors can check the status of their hearing, receive advice on how to care for their ears and answer your questions regarding hearing health by specialists, who will perform hearing test to detect whether a person can suffer some form of hearing loss.
The roadshow, which this year will celebrate its fifth edition, will visit the cities of Madrid, Santander, Sevilla and Barcelona. The initiative has the support of the Spanish Society of Otolaryngology and Cervical Facial Pathology (SEORL-PCF) and the Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf (IFLA).

Solutions to the crisis go through internal communication

Directors of Communication, Internal Communication and Human Resources met at the Institute of Business (IE) in the Forum titled: "Trust, credibility and communication" to hear from the senior management of Unitronics, Velayos and Investment Group Odin, the steps they have taken in their organizations to fight againts the crisis by putting the focus on internal communication.
"Sensitization of employees from the austerity in the management of their organizations, increase involvement between employees and enhancing the sense of belonging are just some of the objectives that internal communication has now. " These and other ideas were introduced by Custodia Cabanas, Executive Director of Human Resources of the Institute of Business and Director of Internal Communications Center.
Núria Vilanova, Inforpress President and moderator of the meeting, says it is "fundamental that the forum Observatory for Internal Communication treates the leadership of the people who run these companies and measures to be taken in this area. Certainly the outcome of the crisis is based in how we manage change within companies, in how we work innovation and how involve our partners”.

Finally, José Manuel Velasco, President of the Communications Managers Association, focused her presentation on the strategy to meet these economic times, based on planning, anticipation, innovation in the service of communication, seeking more opportunities to communicate and, above without exaggeration behavior. He also spoke about impact on work behaviors, maintain employment as a priority for businesses and be more supportive of closer stakeholders (customers, shareholders ...).

The CSR, another form of management in changing times

The good governance, the dialogue with pressure groups, strategic social action, value chain and the communication keys, are one of the most important points at the new program of II Edition of the e-learning course "CSR Expert”.
The success of the course 2008-2009, has impulse the launch of the second edition, which is aimed at professionals who are interested in knowing and developing strategies of CSR in their companies, organizations or institutions.
The course will follow an e-learning methodology and will be advised by expert teachers, virtual classroom and thematic forums. This methodology allows students to work with flexibility of schedules and localization.
