Inforpress creates e-Communication ®

This new Inforpress department offers services specialising in the creation of communication and public relations strategies using Web 2.0, and development and consultancy for the implementation of social media. The main objective is to manage participation and internal communication in companies, product communication through corporate blogs and social networks, brand image monitoring using Web 2.0, opinion studies (netnography) and online branding.
Once again, Inforpress is committed to offering its customers cutting-edge services thanks to its in-depth market knowledge. An increasing number of consumers research what is said about a company and its products on the Internet before making a decision on whether to buy and also to reinforce their choice of service amongst various options. As such, Web 2.0 communication through blogs, wikis and social networks is highly effective when generating user critical mass, preventing possible crises, increasing brand profile and improving a company’s business prospects.
In addition to these external reasons, there are also internal solutions which can optimise the management of talent and knowledge in organisations using web 2.0 technologies.
Certain companies in the tourism sector such as SkyEurope, TerminalA.com and TVtrip.com have entrusted their online communication strategies to Inforpress, as have organisations such as the Madrid Promotion Office (EsMadrid) and DKV Insurance.

Internal Communication

The Internal Communication Observatory awards the prizes for Best Practices 2008

Europcar, Avon, Telefónica, Lavante Foundation, Ikea, Vodafone, Banco Sabadell and Consorci Sanitari Integral were the eight winning organisations at the Best Internal Communication Practices Awards, promoted by the Internal Communication and Corporate Identity Observatory (a Business Institute, Human Capital magazine and Inforpress consultancy initiative). This award recognises the most outstanding internal projects in Spanish companies and public bodies.

The first edition of the awards was a success, featuring the participation of 30 companies which submitted over 50 entries in the different categories, including awards for best practices in: Employer brand, Internal CSR and Change management; Award for the best internal communication channel: Employee Portal, Magazine and Internal marketing campaign, and Award for the best overall strategy in Large Companies, SMEs and Civil Service.

The winner of the “Employer brand” category was Europcar for its “Manager Development Project”, a skills development programme for company managers which has had a direct positive effect on the brand image of the other employees. Telefónica won the “Change Management” category, for its Communication Plan that was aimed at satisfactorily managing the transfer of around 12,000 employees to the new company headquarters in Madrid: District C. The company recognised for its work in internal CSR was Avon Cosmetic, which had considered the high number of internal company audiences and managed campaigns on the fight against breast cancer and domestic violence, with high employee participation.

In the “Best internal communication channel” category prizes went to: Lavante Foundation, for its employee portal; Ikea, for its internal magazine, and Vodafone, for its internal marketing campaign aimed at all employees in order to celebrate, communicate and thank the employees for reaching 15 million customers.

The best overall strategies in this field also received awards. Banco Sabadell, in the “Large Companies” category, for its Internal Communication Governing Plan, and the Consorci Sanitari Integral, in the “Civil Service” category, for combining communication, socio-cultural activities and social responsibility in the same strategy, always keeping the focus on the professionals.

Awards for the “Best internal communication channel using other tools such as blogs, newsletters, forums, manuals, etc.” category and the “Best overall strategy in SMEs” category were not made since none of the entries were judged to meet the conditions required for entering the best practices group in this field.

The jury was composed of the Observatory board: Custodia Cabanas, director of the Observatory, Antonio Rodrigo, director of the Internal Communication Department of the Inforpress Group and Ada Aparicio, senior editor of the Human Capital magazine; the Observatory advisory board: Jorge Díez-Ticio, Human Resources director at DKV Insurance, Maria Luisa Benlloch, Internal Communication and Visual Identity director at Novartis, Manel Giménez, Human Resources director at Gaes, Graciela Ramallo, Communication manager and Marca de Seur and Carmen Dorado, member of the Management and Corporate Social Action General Subdepartment of Madrid Council, and the winners of the IVth edition of the Award for the Best Employee Portal in 2006: Natividad Higuera, expert in People and Knowledge Management at Bankinter, Maite Casado, Internal Communication manager at BNP Paribas, Esther Castaño, Internal Communication director at Iberdrola and Beatriz Lamas, manager of the Business Culture and Internal Communication Development Office at Renfe.
